IAPCO Seminar at IBTM
Demonstrating added value: What an agency can offer that the internet can’t

Technology drives us today, whether it be systems, social media, internet or just plain communication, but have we lost sight of the real world? Technology does not solve all our problems, it can even create them. Look at the affect that it has had on the travel agencies, and other on-line bookings systems, just as uber or airbnb. This session will look at what an agency, be it a PCO, Meeting Planner, CVB or other stakeholder, can offer to clients that the internet does not. Stakeholders are more than service providers, they are partners with highly focussed offerings and experience. Whilst recognising that agencies too need to be automated, it must be recognised that they are not merely a resource to be tapped into when information is required, they are a specialised professional partner providing much needed added value to meetings.

1. A comparison of what an agency/stakeholder v. the internet provides
2. Knowledge of self-worth and the ability to add value
3. Client messaging – its more than the money
4. The extent of automation that is required in order to provide added value services.
